Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the electrical industry with an emphasis on commercial work, particularly in new construction and big box retail outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, terminate, and test all forms of communication cabling, including but not limited to, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cables.

2. Install voice and data systems in commercial and retail environments, including new construction and remodels.

3. Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to install and repair telecommunications equipment and systems.

4. Inspect and service telecommunication devices in frequent use for preventive maintenance.

5. Coordinate work with other team members and subcontractors on the job site.

6. Ensure all installations are accurate, serviceable, and meet building codes.

7. Identify and rectify any faults within the voice and data systems.

8. Maintain and organize tools and equipment, and clean work areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High School diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Voice & Data Technician or in a similar role.

3. Familiarity with electrical systems and telecommunications equipment.

4. Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

5. Proficient in the use of test equipment and tools necessary for the job.

6. Knowledge of industry standards and city codes.

7. Proficient in English and excellent communication skills both verbally and written.

8. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

9. Must be capable of heavy lifting and working in a variety of physical conditions.

10. Must be willing and able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

11. Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

12. BICSI certification is a plus.
