Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced security systems in various commercial properties such as new construction office buildings, hospitals, big box retail stores, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installing, programming, and repairing security systems including alarms, CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems.
2. Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security systems.
3. Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with security systems and providing appropriate solutions.
4. Working closely with clients to determine their security needs and recommending suitable security solutions.
5. Providing technical support to clients regarding the use and maintenance of their security systems.
6. Adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
7. Keeping up-to-date with the latest security technologies and industry trends.
8. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Security Technician.
2. Technical certification in security systems installation and maintenance.
3. Knowledge of various security systems including alarms, CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems.
4. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong communication and customer service skills.
6. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to various job sites in San Diego and surrounding cities.
7. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Certifications:

1. Certified Alarm Technician (CAT) from Electronic Security Association (ESA)
2. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

1. Ability to use various hand and power tools for installation and maintenance of security systems.
2. Familiarity with testing and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair security systems.

Safety Requirements:

The Security Technician must adhere to all safety regulations and protocols at all times. This includes wearing appropriate safety gear and ensuring that all work is done in a safe and efficient manner.
