Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a skilled Voice & Data Technician for commercial electrical work mainly focusing on new construction and big box retail. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installing, testing, and troubleshooting voice and data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair voice, data, and wireless communications systems.
2. Inspect and service telecommunication devices in frequent use.
3. Test newly installed or relocated equipment to ensure its functionality.
4. Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and installation work performed.
5. Provide training and support to end users on how to use telecommunication systems.
6. Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
7. Assist in the development of communication policies and procedures.
8. Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant safety procedures and regulations.
9. Communicate regularly with project managers and other team members to deliver project updates and ensure project completion.
10. Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all client needs are met.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a telecommunications technician, or equivalent experience and training.
3. At least 3 years of experience in the electrical industry, with a focus on commercial work and new construction.
4. Knowledge of the theory and application of voice and data communications systems.
5. Technical skills, including the ability to use a variety of testing instruments and tools.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and customer service skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Requirements:

1. Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
2. Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
3. Must be willing to travel to job sites in Peoria and surrounding cities.
