Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician
Planning and Installation
Your primary responsibility will include planning, laying out, and installing complete electrical systems for commercial projects. This encompasses everything from power distribution to intricate energy management systems. You will work with various conduit systems such as EMT, rigid, and flex, ensuring accurate installations by interpreting complex blueprints, electrical schematics, and building plans.
Troubleshooting and Repair
A significant part of your day will involve troubleshooting and repairing existing electrical systems. Ensuring safety and compliance is paramount, and you’ll leverage your expertise to maintain these standards while addressing any electrical issues that arise.
Code Compliance and Safety

What You Need to Be a Journeyman Electrician
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must hold a valid Journeyman Electrician license from the CA Department of Industrial Relations and have over 5 years of practical experience in the field. Your background should include extensive experience with commercial electrical installations, including power systems, lighting, and controls.
