Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings, ensuring that all work is in accordance with relevant codes. This role involves a high level of technical expertise, as well as a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, program, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with national and local fire codes.
2. Perform regular inspections and tests of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality.
3. Identify and address malfunctions in fire alarm systems, diagnosing and repairing issues promptly.
4. Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers, explaining system operation and responding to any queries or concerns.
5. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, testing, and maintenance activities.
6. Stay updated on new products, software, and technologies related to fire alarm systems.
7. Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient and effective installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role within the electrical industry.
3. Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
4. Knowledge of national and local fire codes.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
6. Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
7. Ability to read and understand complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
8. Strong customer service and communication skills.
9. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
2. Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including high or tight spaces.
3. Ability to stand, climb, or kneel for extended periods of time.

Working hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
