About the Position: We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in San Jose, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure their proper functionality and compliance with fire safety rules and regulations. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety of our clients’ properties.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, inspect, maintain, and repair various fire alarm systems to ensure their optimal operation.
2. Perform scheduled maintenance checks and services to prevent potential malfunctions.
3. Diagnose system faults and implement effective solutions.
4. Ensure all installations and repairs are in compliance with national and local fire safety regulations.
5. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all work performed, including inspection results, installation progress, and repair information.
6. Assist in the preparation of cost and labor estimates for clients.
7. Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of their fire alarm systems.
8. Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential upgrade opportunities and provide technical advice.
9. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
10. Stay current with the latest fire safety standards, trends, and technologies in the industry.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role in the electrical industry.
3. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of national and local fire safety codes and regulations.
5. Proficient in using various fire alarm systems and diagnostic tools.
6. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
2. Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
3. Ability to work in various weather conditions.
