Fire Alarm Technician at Prime Partners

Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician with a minimum of two years of experience in new construction office buildings and hospitals, as well as maintenance of existing fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of fire alarm system installation, testing, and maintenance to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties. This position will be based in Sacramento, CA, and will cover the surrounding cities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial properties, primarily in new construction office buildings and hospitals.
2. Perform routine inspections and tests on existing fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire alarm systems and perform necessary repairs.
4. Prepare service reports detailing all tests, inspections, and maintenance performed.
5. Provide training and guidance to clients on fire alarm system operation and emergency procedures.
6. Stay updated on current fire safety regulations and ensure all installations and maintenance work complies with these standards.
7. Respond to emergency calls for fire alarm system malfunctions and conduct immediate repair work.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. A minimum of two years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
2. Certified Fire Alarm Technician or equivalent certification.
3. Strong knowledge of local and state fire safety regulations and codes.
4. Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining existing fire alarm systems.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

1. Knowledge of various fire alarm systems and their components, including smoke detectors, pull stations, and control panels.
2. Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers.
3. Experience with hand and power tools used in the installation and repair of fire alarm systems.

Safety Requirements and Protocols:

1. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during installation and maintenance work.
2. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
3. Ensure all work is performed in a manner that minimizes risk of injury and property damage.
