Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Location: Palo Alto, CA

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly-skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team. The Fire Alarm Technician will install, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. An ideal candidate should understand electrical circuits, have experience in troubleshooting, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, inspect, and service fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings.
2. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure that they are operating correctly.
3. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in the fire alarm systems.
4. Respond to emergency service calls, diagnose system problems, and perform immediate repairs.
5. Update and maintain accurate documentation of all inspections, service schedules, and work orders.
6. Follow all state and local regulations regarding fire alarm system installation and maintenance.
7. Provide training and support to clients on how to use the fire alarm systems.
8. Remain updated on current technology and equipment in the fire protection industry.
9. Coordinate with the sales team to identify potential upgrade opportunities.
10. Work in compliance with all safety regulations, maintaining clean and organized work areas.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is a plus.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.
3. NICET Fire Alarm Certification is highly desirable.
4. Proficiency in NFPA codes and standards related to fire alarm systems.
5. Strong understanding of electrical circuits and wiring in commercial and residential buildings.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to read and understand complex electrical blueprints.
8. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
9. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
10. Must be able to work on-call and perform physically demanding tasks.

Requirements:

1. Must pass a background check and drug test.
2. Must be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
3. Willingness to work in different weather conditions.
4. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs.
