Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Install and program new fire alarm systems, including panels, detectors, and devices.
2. Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems.
3. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in fire alarm systems.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing and inspections.
5. Provide technical support and training to customers on how to use and maintain their fire alarm systems.
6. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
8. Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure project timelines are met.
9. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
10. Continuously update knowledge of current industry standards, equipment, and technology.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field is preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
3. Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
4. Proficiency in the use of manual and electrical tools.
5. Excellent knowledge of electrical systems and fire alarm technology.
6. Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards.
7. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
8. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
10. Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.

Requirements:

1. Must pass a background check and drug test.
2. Must be willing to participate in ongoing education and training.
3. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and on different job sites, including commercial and residential locations.
4. Must be willing to work after hours for emergency service calls and projects when necessary.
5. Must adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
