Fire Alarm Technician at Prime Partners

Job Description:

We are looking to hire a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm systems in new construction office buildings and hospitals as well as existing structures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install new fire alarm systems in new construction office buildings and hospitals in accordance with NFPA codes and standards, state and local regulations.
2. Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems.
3. Troubleshoot and repair deficiencies in fire alarm systems including panels, devices, and wiring.
4. Provide on-call emergency service as required and respond to emergency calls in a timely manner.
5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, and prepare necessary reports and documentation.
6. Maintain a high level of customer service and foster positive relationships with clients.
7. Follow safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician with a focus on commercial electrical work.
3. Valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
4. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
5. Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, and state and local regulations.
6. Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

1. Familiarity with major brands of fire alarm systems such as Honeywell, Siemens, and Notifier.
2. Proficiency in using electrical and electronic test equipment and hand tools.
3. Experience in working with power tools and electrical equipment.

Safety Requirements and Protocols:

1. Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols and OSHA requirements.
2. Ability to work safely with ladders, lifts, and hand tools.
3. Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
