Fire Alarm Installer at Prime Partners

Job Description:

Prime Partners, a leading provider of comprehensive fire safety solutions, is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Installer with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field. This position is responsible for the installation of fire alarm systems in new construction office buildings, hospitals, big box retail stores, and other commercial properties across Tempe, AZ, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, inspect and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with National Fire Protection Association codes and standards.
• Perform system tests and inspections to ensure that systems are in working order and compliant with local, state, and federal fire codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to ensure accurate installation.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for fire alarm systems.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing them with information on system operation and maintenance.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire alarm installation.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72 and local fire codes.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

• Must have knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools including drills, wire strippers, conduit benders, and multimeters.
• Familiarity with alarm control panels, detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances.

Safety Requirements and Protocols:

• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
• Must be able to safely climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and guidelines for the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
