Cable Installer at Myro Electrical

Myro Electrical, a leading provider of electrical solutions, is seeking a skilled Cable Installer to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a pivotal member of our data center team, you will be responsible for installing and certifying high-performance cabling systems in mission-critical facilities. Columbus, surrounded by neighboring cities such as Dublin, Westerville, and Grove City, offers a vibrant community with a burgeoning tech industry. This role requires a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optics, and cooling separation, to support high-density cable installations in critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and install structured cabling systems for data centers and enterprise networks.
• Perform high-density fiber optic cable installations.
• Certify cabling systems using advanced test equipment.
• Implement proper cable management in network rooms.
• Terminate and test high-speed copper and fiber connections.
• Maintain detailed testing documentation and warranties.
• Coordinate pathway installation with other trades.
• Perform data center hot aisle/cold aisle separation.
• Install overhead cable tray and ladder rack systems.
• Maintain clean room protocols for sensitive environments.
• Collaborate with local IT teams in Columbus to ensure seamless integration of network systems.
• Adhere to Ohio state regulations regarding electrical installations.
• Conduct site assessments specific to the Columbus region to optimize cable layouts and installations.

Required Qualifications

• BICSI Installer 1 certification required, Installer 2 preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with fiber optic installation and testing.
• Proficiency with multiple certification testers.
• Understanding of data center design principles.
• Experience with cable management systems and pathways.
• Knowledge of clean room procedures.
• Ability to read and create cable installation drawings.
• Understanding of network hardware requirements.
• 1-5 years of experience required for Voice Data work in a Commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Columbus-specific building codes and standards.
• Experience working in active data centers within the Columbus area.
