Audio Visual Technician at Black Box

Position Overview

Black Box Voice & Data is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Audio Visual Technician to join our team in Columbus, OH. In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering advanced AV solutions across various government environments, including federal agencies, state offices, and military facilities. You will work on a second shift schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, collaborating with multiple project teams and traveling regularly to nearby major cities to support our diverse clientele. Your expertise in AV systems and technology will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our clients’ communication infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and service control systems, video walls, sound reinforcement, and digital signal processors.
• Collaborate with project teams to plan and execute AV projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.
• Conduct site visits to assess client needs and provide customized AV solutions.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of AV equipment in government settings.
• Provide technical support and training to clients on the use of AV systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations during all installations and services.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as an Audio Visual Technician.
• Crestron Certified and CTS-I certifications.
• Proficiency with control systems, video walls, sound reinforcement, and digital signal processors.
• Ability to travel regularly to major cities for project implementations.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• US citizenship or ability to work in government facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extron Certified and additional Crestron certifications.
• Experience working within government or military environments.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulatory compliance in AV installations.
