Overview of the Commercial Electrician Role

As a Commercial Electrician at McCall Electric, you will play a vital role in executing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for various commercial projects. You will work closely with project managers, other electricians, and construction professionals to ensure the safe and efficient completion of each project. Your expertise will be crucial in upholding our standards for quality and safety while meeting project timelines and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in commercial settings, including office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to coordinate work and resolve any issues that arise.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify and resolve potential problems.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.

Requirements

• Valid electrical license for the state of Texas.
• 3-5 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Certification in Arc Flash Safety and Lift Certification.
• Experience with OSHA 30 standards and procedures.
• Proficiency in using Advanced Meters such as the Fluke 87V for diagnostics and testing.
• Knowledge of First Aid/CPR is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with First Aid/CPR training.
• Demonstrated experience working on commercial projects involving complex electrical systems.

Location & Schedule

This position is based in Irving, TX, with projects located in the surrounding areas. Nearby cities include Dallas, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Carrollton, and Coppell. Our projects may require travel to these locations as needed.

• Schedule: Full-time, with the possibility of overtime based on project demands and timelines.
