Overview of the Role

As a Commercial Electrician in our Commercial division at Jackson Electric, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a variety of commercial settings. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our projects are completed on time and meet all safety and regulatory standards. You will work closely with other team members to deliver exceptional service to our clients in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in commercial buildings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide timely solutions.
• Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to complete projects on time.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Certifications:

• State Electrical License
• Confined Space Certification

Experience and Skills:

• 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Virginia.
• Experience with Lift Certification and Arc Flash Training.
• Familiarity with Advanced Meters, such as the Fluke 87V.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to stand, walk, and crouch for extended periods.

Safety Knowledge:

• Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with Advanced Meters, particularly the Fluke 87V.
• Previous experience working on commercial projects in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Richmond, VA
• Neighboring Cities: Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, Midlothian, and Glen Allen.
• Schedule: Full-time position requiring flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $33.58-$37.65 per hour, depending on experience.
