Position Overview at HCI Systems

The Cable Technician at HCI Systems will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of network cabling systems in office buildings throughout Richmond, VA, and neighboring cities. The role requires a keen attention to detail, a strong technical skill set, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to specification.

Essential Functions for Cable Technician

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling systems in office settings.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot network issues to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to implement network solutions and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations during all phases of project execution.

Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at HCI Systems

• 2-5 years of experience in network cabling or related field.
• Required certification: BICSI Technician.
• Proficiency in using Fiber Optic Tools and Cable Management Systems.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: BICSI Installer 2.
• Advanced experience with Fiber Optic Tools.
• Experience in working with complex network infrastructures.
• Proficiency with tools such as cable testers, fusion splicers, and network analyzers.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Richmond, VA.
• Additional locations: Henrico, Chesterfield, Glen Allen, Midlothian, Mechanicsville.
• Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime based on project needs.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $27.48-$31.93 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
