Role Overview

As a Retail Commercial Electrician at IES Electric, you will play a critical role in executing commercial electrical projects with precision and safety. You will work closely with project managers and fellow electricians to ensure that all installations and maintenance tasks meet our high standards and client expectations. This position requires a deep understanding of commercial electrical systems, a commitment to safety, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements for Retail Commercial Electrician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations and maintenance for commercial projects including office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• Interpret and execute electrical plans and blueprints with accuracy.
• Utilize advanced meters, such as the Fluke 87V, to diagnose system issues and ensure precise measurements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and protocols, including Arc Flash Training.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Conduct routine inspections and repairs to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA standards.

Required Certifications

• OSHA 30 Certification
• State Electrical License for Massachusetts

Experience & Skills

• 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
• Proven experience with advanced meters, specifically the Fluke 87V.
• Knowledge and understanding of Arc Flash Training.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Massachusetts.
• Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
• Strong safety knowledge and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Experience

• First Aid/CPR certification is highly advantageous.
• Prior experience working on commercial projects is preferred.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Cambridge, MA
• Neighboring Cities: Somerville, Arlington, Belmont, Watertown, and Boston.
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours. Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $34.53 - $39.21 per hour, commensurate with experience.
