Overview of the Commercial Apprentice Electrician Role

IES Electric is seeking a motivated Commercial Apprentice Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a commercial environment. As a Commercial Apprentice Electrician, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians and gain valuable knowledge while contributing to the successful completion of various commercial projects.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial settings such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• Learn and apply electrical codes and safety standards to ensure compliance and safety on all projects.
• Support senior electricians in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Utilize hand tools and basic test equipment to perform tasks under supervision.
• Assist in conduit bending and installation to route electrical wiring.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of the electrical trade.

Required Qualifications

• Possess 0-2 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Hold a valid electrical license for the state of California.
• Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools and basic test equipment.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of basic electrical safety practices and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience with conduit bending and installation.
• Previous experience working on commercial projects.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Lancaster, CA
• Neighboring cities include Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Rosamond, and Acton.
• Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
