Prime Partners is one, among the leading electrical contractors in Lancaster, CA, specializing in commercial work, mainly new construction, and big box retail. We are currently seeking a skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, test, and troubleshoot various types of voice and data equipment such as data racks, patch panels, routers, switches, and access points.
2. Perform cable terminations for fiber optic, CAT 5/6, and other forms of communication cables.
3. Interpret and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to voice and data systems.
4. Carry out site surveys to determine the best installation practices and solutions for voice and data systems.
5. Conduct system diagnostics and repair faulty systems promptly to minimize downtime.
6. Ensure all voice and data installations adhere to local and national electrical codes and company policies.
7. Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns promptly, and ensuring their voice and data needs are met.
8. Maintain proper documentation of all installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
9. Collaborate with other technical staff to ensure efficient and effective project execution.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or minimum of three years’ experience in the voice and data field.
3. Knowledge of industry-specific tools and equipment, including punch down tools, testing meters, and cable management tools.
4. Strong understanding of voice and data systems including VOIP, Ethernet, and fiber optic systems.
5. Knowledge of local and national electrical codes.
6. Experience with commercial construction projects, specifically new construction and big box retail.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication skills, able to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
9. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
10. Ability to work in different locations within Lancaster and surrounding cities.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
2. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
3. Ability to stand, bend, climb, and kneel for extended periods.
