Job Overview

As an Apprentice Electrician at IES Electric, you will join our dynamic Commercial division, working alongside a team of skilled professionals on a variety of commercial projects. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a solid foundation in the electrical trade, while contributing to the successful completion of projects in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, schools, and more. Key Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman and master electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial settings.
• Support the layout and assembly of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
• Help troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety and compliance on job sites.
• Assist in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.

Requirements

• Basic Electrical Safety certification.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• 1-2 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Colorado.
• Experience with Basic First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10.
• Familiarity with digital multimeters (Fluke preferred).
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Strong understanding of safety practices and regulations in the electrical industry.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with digital multimeters, particularly Fluke models.
• Prior experience on commercial projects, such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, or schools.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Colorado Springs, CO.
• Neighboring cities include: Fountain, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park, and Monument.
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
