Position Overview

As a Healthcare Journeyman Electrician at Howell Electric, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical tasks in a commercial environment. This role requires expertise in maintaining and installing electrical systems, with a particular focus on healthcare facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and functionality of electrical systems in hospitals and other healthcare settings. This position demands a thorough understanding of electrical codes and standards, as well as the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial healthcare settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and code books to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct conduit bending and installation for various electrical projects.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including Arc Flash Safety and OSHA regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to coordinate electrical work on commercial projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure patient safety in healthcare facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Required Qualifications

• 4-8 years of electrical experience in a commercial environment.
• Valid California electrical license.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting code books and blueprints.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and practices, including Arc Flash Safety and OSHA guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
• Proven experience with conduit bending is a plus.
• Prior experience working on commercial projects, particularly in healthcare settings.

• Primary location: Los Angeles, CA.
• Neighboring cities: Santa Monica, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Inglewood, Torrance, and Long Beach.
• Schedule: Full-time position, with potential for overtime as required by project demands.
