Overview of Commercial Apprentice Electrician Role

The Commercial Apprentice Electrician at Howell Electric will play a vital role in supporting our experienced electricians on diverse commercial projects. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow within the electrical trade. The successful candidate will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings.
• Support lead electricians in running wiring, installing outlets, and setting up lighting and other electrical components.
• Learn and apply electrical codes and standards to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks.
• Perform conduit bending and installation under supervision.
• Participate in the setup and maintenance of temporary power systems for construction sites.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.

Required Qualifications

• 0-2 years of electrical experience.
• Valid electrical license for California.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong understanding of basic electrical safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• California ET Card certification.
• Experience with conduit bending techniques.
• Previous experience working on commercial projects is a plus.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Los Angeles, CA.
• Neighboring cities include Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Inglewood, Santa Monica, and Long Beach.
• Schedule: Full-time, with some flexibility for overtime as needed.
