Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cable Technician to join our Commercial division at HCS Electrical. As a Cable Tech, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of cabling systems for our commercial projects. Your work will contribute to the successful completion of projects in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools. You will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals, ensuring that all systems are installed to specification and operate efficiently.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems in commercial settings.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to perform installations and repairs.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely project completion.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Ensure all installations are compliant with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Provide on-site support and customer service to clients during installations.

Required Certifications and Skills

• Manufacturer Certifications (Commscope/Panduit) and OSHA 10 certification.
• Proficiency in using Network Testing Tools and OTDR Testing Equipment.
• 3-5 years of electrical experience, preferably in commercial projects.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Texas.
• Experience in First Aid/CPR.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with OTDR Testing Equipment.
• Proven experience working on commercial projects, particularly in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, or schools.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: San Antonio, TX.
• Proximity to neighboring cities such as New Braunfels, Schertz, Cibolo, Universal City, Converse, and Live Oak.
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours, with potential for overtime as project demands require.
