Fire Alarm Technician at Prime Partners
Prime Partners is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in Tempe, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire codes. This role is critical to our mission of delivering safety and reliability to our clients.
The successful candidate should be highly skilled in fire alarm systems, demonstrate excellent problem-solving capabilities, and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Nice-to-have certifications will be an added advantage and demonstrate your commitment to the fire protection industry.
Key Responsibilities

Installation & Maintenance:
- Install, program, and configure fire alarm systems, including panels, detectors, pull stations, horns, and strobes.
- Perform regular inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to ensure systems are operational and compliant with fire safety codes (NFPA 72).
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair fire alarm systems and associated components.

Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company and client standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, and repairs.
- Submit timely reports on system performance, deficiencies, and required repairs or replacements.

Customer Interaction:
- Provide excellent customer service while communicating effectively with clients regarding their fire alarm systems.
- Educate clients on system functionality and operation.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other technicians, project managers, and contractors to complete projects efficiently.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service requests.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school education is a plus.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, including conventional and addressable systems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with fire alarm brands such as Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, Simplex, or Silent Knight is preferred.
- Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems and related tools.
