Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician Location: Santa Clara, CA

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for conducting installations, repairs, and maintenance operations on commercial electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical codes, have extensive hands-on experience, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.
2. Conduct inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
3. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
4. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
5. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
6. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
7. Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
8. Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

1. Must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician License.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a commercial electrician.
3. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
5. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
6. Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed an apprenticeship as an electrician.
7. Proven experience as an electrician.
8. Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
9. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
10. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
11. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
12. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.

Requirements:

1. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
2. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
3. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
4. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
5. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and on various terrain.
6. Must be comfortable working at heights, including on rooftops, ladders, and lifts.
