Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician Location: Sacramento, CA

Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, installations, and repairs within commercial settings. You will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems are functional and safe to meet the customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
2. Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
3. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
4. Perform routine maintenance and predictive maintenance on electrical devices.
5. Read blueprints or technical diagrams before performing installation or repair tasks.
6. Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems.
7. Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
8. Follow industry standards and comply with safety regulations.
9. Assist in training apprentice electricians.
10. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Commercial Journeyman Electrician.
2. Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
3. Valid license to practice profession in California.
4. In-depth knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes.
5. Experience with industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
6. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
7. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
8. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
9. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a commercial journeyman electrician.
2. Valid driver’s license.
3. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
4. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and occasional out-of-town projects.
5. Must possess excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in different weather conditions.
7. Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
