Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. This includes lighting fixtures, electrical panels, and circuits. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of electrical systems and codes, and a problem-solving attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair various types of electrical systems and equipment following the National Electrical Code, Local Electrical Codes and OSHA guidelines.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
3. Test electrical systems using tools such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ammeters to ensure safety and compatibility.
4. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, for safety issues and potential repairs.
5. Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial environments, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring.
6. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections.
7. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project timelines are met.
8. Train and mentor apprentice electricians.
9. Ensure all work performed meets with the highest quality standards.

Qualifications:

1. Valid California Journeyman Electrician License is required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial electrician.
3. In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems, including installing, troubleshooting, and repairing.
4. Understanding of electrical schematics, blueprints, and plans.
5. Familiarity with state and local building and electrical codes.
6. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
7. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
8. Strong communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
9. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, operate power tools, and work in various weather conditions.

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
2. Completion of electrician apprenticeship is required.
3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
4. Must pass a background check and drug test.

Working Conditions:

This job requires the ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments. The role involves physical exertion, handling of potentially hazardous materials, and operation of electrical and manual tools. Safety equipment is provided and must be used to prevent potential injuries.
