Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Marietta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to install, repair, and maintain electrical components in commercial buildings. This includes troubleshooting electrical malfunctions, conducting inspections, and ensuring all work is in compliance with national and local codes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring all work is in accordance with relevant codes.
2. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
3. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
4. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
5. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
6. Conduct regular preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize breakdown and repair costs.
7. Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure the electrical plans are executed correctly during the construction process.

Qualifications:

1. Must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician license.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrician, preferably in the commercial sector.
3. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
4. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
5. Proficient in the use of electrical diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
7. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
8. High school diploma or equivalent; further education in electrical engineering or relevant field is a plus.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a journeyman electrician.
2. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
3. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
5. A valid driver’s license is required.
6. Successful completion of an electrician apprenticeship program is required.
7. Professional Certification (e.g., an ASE certification) will be an advantage.
