Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Location: Glendale, CA

Job Description: We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and reliable Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Glendale, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings, such as retail stores, offices, and other businesses. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial buildings.
2. Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards.
3. Ensure that installations are in compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes.
4. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to understand the layout of electrical systems.
5. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
6. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
7. Collaborate with building architects and engineers to determine the best placement of electrical wiring.
8. Train and mentor apprentice electricians.
9. Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid state Journeyman Electrician’s License.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial electrician.
4. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and blueprints.
5. In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes.
6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
7. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
8. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
9. Physical strength and stamina to carry heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
10. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Requirements:

1. Must pass a drug test, background check, and have a clean driving record.
2. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
3. Must be able to work in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
4. May be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
