Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners
Prime Partners is seeking a dedicated and motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team in Torrance, CA. The ideal candidate will have a valid ET (Electrical Trainee) card and a strong desire to grow within the commercial electrical field. You will work alongside experienced electricians on various commercial projects, gaining hands-on experience and sharpening your technical skills.
Our projects range from office buildings and retail spaces to schools and industrial facilities in Torrance and its surrounding cities. As an apprentice, you’ll play an integral role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman and foreman electricians with the installation of wiring, conduit, and fixtures in commercial buildings.
- Pull and route cables through walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Install electrical panels, breakers, outlets, and switches per project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Maintain and organize tools and materials on job sites.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical components under supervision.
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored at the end of each workday.
Required Qualifications
- Valid ET (Electrical Trainee) card issued by the State of California.
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and code compliance.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and wire strippers.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in tight spaces.
- Willingness to travel to job sites in nearby cities, including Redondo Beach, Carson, and Long Beach.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
Tools & Equipment Experience
- Wire strippers, pliers, and conduit benders.
- Power drills and saws.
- Multimeters and voltage testers.
- Fish tape and pulling systems.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with low-voltage systems and data cabling.
- Basic knowledge of fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient lighting systems.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Basic computer skills for documenting work and using project management tools.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Occasional weekend work may be required depending on project deadlines.
