Job Overview
As an Apprentice Electrician at Encore Electric, you’ll work alongside experienced journeymen and master electricians on a wide range of commercial projects. Our apprenticeship program is designed to help you gain practical skills, meet state licensing requirements, and grow into a successful career in electrical construction. You’ll assist in installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems while ensuring safety and quality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including:
- Power distribution systems.
- Lighting systems, including energy-efficient LED upgrades.
- Electrical panels, breakers, and transformers.
- Conduits, wiring, and cable management systems.
- Work on diverse commercial projects, including office buildings, retail centers, healthcare facilities, and schools.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams under the guidance of licensed electricians.
- Use basic tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including OSHA requirements and Encore Electric policies.
- Participate in jobsite cleanup and organization.
Required Qualifications

Registration:
- Must be registered as an Electrical Apprentice with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in a state-approved apprenticeship program.

Skills:
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to take direction and learn from experienced team members.
- A commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.
Tools & Equipment Expertise
- Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers).
- Power tools (drills, saws, and impact drivers).
- Multimeters and voltage testers (training provided if needed).
- Conduit bending tools (manual and hydraulic).
- PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
Nice to Have
- Previous construction or electrical experience.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- OSHA 10 certification (training available).
