Position Overview at Wisetel
The Low Voltage Cable Technician will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of cabling systems within healthcare facilities in Durham, NC, and surrounding areas. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all cabling work meets industry standards and complies with safety regulations. This position involves working collaboratively with other team members to support the successful execution of projects across multiple locations.
Essential Functions for Low Voltage Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cables including fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of network cabling infrastructure.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians on healthcare facility projects.
- Maintain accurate records of installations and service performed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications for Low Voltage Cable Technician at Wisetel
- 2-4 years of experience in low voltage cabling installation and maintenance.
- Required certification: BICSI Technician.
- Proficient in using fiber optic tools and wire mapping tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: Network+ Certification.
- Advanced experience with fiber optic tools.
- Experience in healthcare facility projects.
- Proficiency in using power and hand tools for cable installations.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Durham, NC.
- Additional locations: Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, Morrisville, Apex.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.84-$33.86 per hour.
