The Low Voltage Cable Technician at Teleco plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cabling systems within office building projects in Chesapeake, VA, and neighboring cities. This position involves ensuring that all cabling work meets industry standards and client specifications while maintaining a high level of professionalism and safety.

Essential Functions for Low Voltage Cable Technician

• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage cabling systems, including voice, data, and video infrastructure.
• Perform daily tasks such as running cables, terminating and testing cables, and installing cable management systems.
• Involvement in office building projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of cabling installations.
• Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and verify existing installations.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.

Required Qualifications for Low Voltage Cable Technician at Teleco

• 2-4 years of experience in low voltage cabling or a related field.
• Required certification: OSHA 10.
• Proficiency in using Cable Management Systems and Wire Mapping Tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: BICSI Installer 2.
• Extensive experience with advanced Cable Management Systems.
• Specialized experience in commercial office building projects.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools related to cabling work.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Chesapeake, VA.
• Additional locations include Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Newport News.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and overtime as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $27.17-$33.23 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
