Security Technician at Tech Electronics

Tech Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Security Systems Technician to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. As a key player in the heart of the Delaware Valley, you will be responsible for delivering integrated security solutions in a city renowned for its historical significance and vibrant culture. Situated near Camden, NJ, and Wilmington, DE, Philadelphia offers a dynamic working environment with diverse challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise-level security systems, configure IP camera networks including VLANs and QoS settings, program access control databases and credential management systems, install biometric security devices, configure cloud-based security platforms, perform system health monitoring and maintenance, integrate security systems with building automation, implement cybersecurity best practices for security networks, maintain detailed system documentation and drawings, provide end-user training on system operation.

• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies for compliance with regional security mandates.
• Tailor security solutions to meet Philadelphia’s urban infrastructure needs.
• Conduct site surveys in the Greater Philadelphia area to assess security vulnerabilities.
• Ensure adherence to Pennsylvania’s specific licensing and regulatory requirements for security installations.

Required Qualifications

ESA Level 1 certification, CompTIA Security+ preferred, demonstrated experience with enterprise video management systems, strong understanding of IP networking and cybersecurity, proficiency in access control database management, experience with biometric security systems, knowledge of structured cabling standards, proven customer service skills, clean background check with ability to obtain government clearance.

• 1-3 years of experience required for security work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Philadelphia’s local building codes and security regulations.
• Experience working in historical buildings and adapting security systems accordingly.
