What You’ll Do as an Electrician

As an Electrician, your role will encompass a variety of tasks crucial to the success of our projects. You’ll work on commercial electrical systems, ensuring everything from lighting to complex power systems operate optimally. Your Daily Tasks as an Electrician

Your day-to-day as an Electrician will be dynamic and engaging. You’ll start by installing and maintaining commercial electrical systems, ensuring all components are safely and efficiently set up. This includes bending and installing EMT and rigid conduit to provide clean and secure pathways for wiring. Troubleshooting electrical circuits using multimeters is a daily task, allowing you to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.

Additionally, you’ll wire and test lighting controls, a critical component in modern commercial environments. Replacing and upgrading switchgear is another key responsibility, ensuring systems are up-to-date and functioning within safety standards. Installing transformers will be part of your routine, providing the necessary voltage adjustments for various equipment. Supervising apprentices on job sites is also essential, as you’ll guide them through tasks, sharing your knowledge and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

What You Need to Be an Electrician

To excel in this role, proficiency with conduit benders and power tools is a must. A thorough understanding of NEC codes is essential, ensuring all work meets legal and safety requirements. You’ll need to be comfortable working on lifts and scaffolding, adapting to different project environments. Strong troubleshooting skills will help you quickly identify and solve problems, keeping projects on track. Experience with lighting control systems is beneficial, as these systems are integral to our projects. Leadership capabilities are important, as mentoring apprentices will be a part of your responsibilities. Ideally, you’ll bring 3-5 years of field experience as an Electrician to the table, showcasing your hands-on abilities and expertise.
