Position Overview at T&D Communications
The Data Center Cable Tech role is crucial for managing and maintaining the cabling infrastructure within educational institutions in Costa Mesa, CA, and surrounding areas. The position involves hands-on work with data center operations, focusing on the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of network cables to ensure optimal performance.
Essential Functions for Data Center Cable Tech
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in data centers.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of cable systems to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute cabling projects efficiently.
- Document all installations and repairs for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications for Data Center Cable Tech at T&D Communications
- 3-6 years of experience in data center cabling or a related field.
- Required certification: CDCDP (Certified Data Centre Design Professional) or CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional).
- Proficiency with Corning Fiber Systems and Fluke Testing Equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: BICSI Data Center Design.
- Experience with CommScope Infrastructure products.
- Specialized experience in educational institution projects.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools relevant to cabling tasks.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Costa Mesa, CA.
- Additional locations: Irvine, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, and Anaheim.
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime depending on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $30.57-$36.43 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
