As a Cable Technician at T&D Communications, you will play a critical role in supporting the communication needs of educational institutions in Visalia, CA, and neighboring cities. This position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage cabling systems. You will work closely with our team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Requirements for Cable Technician

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers to deliver projects on time.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports.

• Low voltage cabling installation:

  • Perform installations in educational settings.
  • Adhere to safety and compliance standards.
  • Ensure optimal system performance.

• Tool proficiency for daily tasks:

  • Familiarity with cable testers and termination tools.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.

• Daily tasks:

  • Conduct site assessments and prepare installation plans.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on cabling systems.
  • Provide technical support to clients and team members.

• Project involvement:

  • Engage in project planning and execution.
  • Provide input on system design and layout.

Qualifications for Cable Technician at T&D Communications

• 2-5 years of experience in cable installation or related field.
• Required certification: OSHA 10.
• Experience with Cable Management Systems and Wire Mapping Tools.
• Physical requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: BICSI Technician.
• Experience with Fiber Optic Tools.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Visalia, CA.
• Additional locations: Tulare, Hanford, Porterville, Exeter, Lindsay.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.

• Pay range: $31.5-$36.84 per hour, commensurate with experience.
