Prime Partners, a leading electrical industry company in Oceanside, CA, is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and highly skilled Voice & Data Technician. The successful candidate will primarily be involved in commercial work, focusing on new construction and big box retail. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing voice and data systems within commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain voice and data cabling systems in commercial environments, with an emphasis on new construction and big box retail.
2. Test and certify newly installed or relocated equipment to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
3. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
4. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference materials.
5. Perform upgrades and additions to systems to increase functionality and usability.
6. Coordinate with contractors and other trades, ensuring that all specifications and regulations are followed.
7. Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client needs.
8. Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, with a Vocational or Technical School degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the voice and data field within the electrical industry.
3. Knowledge of commercial construction environments and the ability to work within them is essential.
4. Proficiency with hand and power tools.
5. Experience working with CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling.
6. Strong understanding of industry standards and safety regulations.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and customer service skills.
9. Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.

Requirements:

1. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
2. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends, if necessary.
3. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
