As a Senior Audio Visual Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of integrating state-of-the-art AV systems in commercial construction projects. This role is all about hands-on work, ensuring every AV system is perfectly installed and operational. You’ll be the go-to expert, guiding the team through complex installations and ensuring seamless integration with building infrastructures.

Your Daily Tasks as a Senior Audio Visual Technician

Leading AV Installations

As a Senior Audio Visual Technician, you’ll spearhead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of sophisticated AV systems. Whether it’s a conference room or a large-scale auditorium, your expertise will ensure every component is flawlessly integrated. You’ll interpret blueprints and technical schematics to plan AV installations, coordinating everything from cabling to mounting equipment and integrating control systems.

Programming and Troubleshooting

You’ll be responsible for programming and troubleshooting a variety of AV components, including projectors, displays, video walls, sound systems, and control panels. Your role ensures these systems not only function but excel, delivering optimal performance and user satisfaction through meticulous system testing and calibration.

Collaboration and Integration

Collaborating with project managers, architects, and other trades will be crucial in ensuring AV systems are seamlessly integrated with the building’s infrastructure. Your ability to communicate and coordinate with other professionals will ensure projects stay on track and meet the highest standards of quality.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct regular system maintenance and upgrades to keep AV systems running efficiently.
• Provide comprehensive training to clients and end-users, ensuring they are confident in using the AV systems.
• Maintain detailed documentation, including system designs, configurations, and service reports for future reference and troubleshooting.

What You Need to Be a Senior Audio Visual Technician

Extensive Experience and Expertise

You’ll need a minimum of 5 years of experience in installing and troubleshooting AV systems in commercial environments. Your proficiency with AV technologies like Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Dante audio networks is essential for this role.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong knowledge of AV signal flow, system programming, and network integration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor junior technicians.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to project schedules and quality standards.
• Hands-on ability to manage and execute installation processes from start to finish.
