What You’ll Do as a Low Voltage Project Manager

As a Low Voltage Project Manager at Prime Partners, you will be at the forefront of our innovative projects in Atlanta and its neighboring cities, such as Marietta, Decatur, and Sandy Springs. Your role is essential in ensuring the seamless installation of low voltage systems across large commercial new construction projects. This position requires a practical, hands-on approach to managing day-to-day operations and keeping projects on track.

Your Daily Tasks as a Low Voltage Project Manager

Oversee Project Installations

You will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of installations, including voice/data cabling, fire alarms, security systems, card access controls, and CCTV. Your job is to ensure that everything runs smoothly on-site, coordinating efforts between general contractors, subcontractors, and clients.

Manage Budgets and Schedules

Developing and managing project budgets and schedules will be a core part of your responsibilities. You will create detailed material procurement plans to ensure resources are available as needed and projects stay within financial and time constraints.

Blueprints and On-Site Inspections

Reviewing and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings is crucial. You’ll provide guidance to installation teams based on these documents and conduct on-site inspections to monitor work progress. Your eye for detail will help verify quality standards and resolve any issues promptly.

Compliance and Documentation

Ensuring compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards is part of your daily routine. You’ll prepare progress reports, maintain project documentation, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Training and mentoring field technicians will also be a significant part of your role, improving team performance and efficiency.

Additional Daily Activities

What You Need to Be a Low Voltage Project Manager

Extensive Knowledge and Experience

To thrive in this role, you’ll need extensive knowledge of low voltage systems, including structured cabling, fire alarm panels, access control systems, and CCTV. A strong understanding of project management principles such as budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation is crucial.

Hands-On Skills

Your ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical specifications will be vital. You must possess excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders. Proficiency with project management software and tools is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges.

Physical Requirements and Experience

Being physically able to visit job sites and inspect installations is necessary. Ideally, you have 5-7 years of experience in the field as a Low Voltage Project Manager and have honed the requisite hands-on abilities.
