Journeyman Electrician Position Overview

Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Electrician at Prime Partners, your primary duties will include:
- Performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on mission-critical facilities, ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
- Servicing UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, and battery storage units to maintain operational integrity.
- Conducting infrared thermography inspections and monitoring power quality to prevent system failures.
- Installing grounding systems, PDUs, and structured cabling in high-uptime environments.
- Collaborating with engineers and IT specialists to optimize electrical infrastructure.
- Following strict operational protocols and redundancy procedures to meet industry standards for reliability and security.
Additionally, you will:
- Execute advanced technical duties like load calculations, system integrations, and fault diagnosis.
- Lead regional projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.
- Adhere to stringent safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician certification and have experience working with mission-critical electrical systems. A solid understanding of backup power infrastructure, redundancy principles, and emergency electrical procedures is essential. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, including power quality analyzers and thermal imaging devices, is required. You should be comfortable working in high-pressure environments where precision is key, and downtime is not an option. Familiarity with NFPA 70E, IEEE power standards, and OSHA electrical safety guidelines is necessary.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
- Essential certifications: Journeyman Electrician License, OSHA 10 or 30.
- Required technical knowledge: Advanced understanding of electrical schematics, circuits, and control systems.
