Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in commercial electrical systems and be capable of performing various electrical tasks independently. This role will involve installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment in commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
2. Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
3. Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.
4. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
5. Perform routine maintenance and preventive measures on electrical systems.
6. Ensure that all electrical installations are compliant with national and local safety standards.
7. Coordinate with the construction and maintenance team to ensure the smooth running of all electrical systems.
8. Train and mentor apprentices to maintain high standards of work.
9. Respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
10. Communicate effectively with clients and team members about project progress and issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. A valid Georgia Journeyman Electrician License is required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, preferably within a commercial setting.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
4. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
5. Proficiency in using electrical instruments and testing devices.
6. Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools related to the job.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Good verbal and written communication skills.
10. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
11. Must pass drug screening and background checks.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift, carry and move heavy objects.
2. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
3. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
4. Ability to work in various weather conditions.
5. Must have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
