Lead Cable Technician Position Overview
Prime Partners in Bellevue, WA is urgently seeking an experienced Lead Cable Technician to join our team for long-term commercial projects. We need a proactive leader to manage structured cabling installations from start to finish. You’ll ensure quality and efficiency in all phases, from pre-construction planning to final system certification.
Qualifications for Lead Cable Technician
- Minimum of 4 years as a Lead Cable Technician on commercial projects
- Expertise in BICSI installation methods and TIA/EIA standards
- Proficiency with Fluke DTX/DSX certification tools
- Strong blueprint reading and markup capabilities
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Experience in fiber fusion splicing and OTDR is advantageous
- OSHA 30 and manufacturer certifications (e.g., Panduit, Leviton, CommScope) are preferred
Responsibilities for Lead Cable Technician
- Oversee structured cabling projects from layout to certification on large job sites
- Lead crews in installing CAT5e/CAT6 and fiber optic cables in MDFs/IDFs
- Terminate and label patch panels, jacks, and fiber enclosures
- Use Fluke or equivalent tools for testing and certifying cabling
- Install cable management systems according to blueprints
- Coordinate with IT, electrical, and GC teams to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain QA/QC checklists and project documentation
