Cable Puller at Prime Partners
About This Cable Puller Role
Hey there! I’m glad you could join me for a coffee. Let me tell you a bit about what it’s like being a Cable Puller at Prime Partners here in Flagstaff. It’s not your typical 9 to 5 gig, that’s for sure. One of the things I love about it is the variety. Last week, we were working on a new office complex, running CAT6 cables for their network infrastructure. It was a bit of a puzzle, but that’s what makes it interesting. Sure, there are challenging days, like when you’re trying to figure out a tricky cable route or dealing with the weather, but there’s nothing quite like the feeling of looking at a finished project and knowing you played a vital part in it.
What Your Week Actually Looks Like
During a usual week, you’ll be pulling, routing, and securing all kinds of low-voltage cables—think CAT5e, CAT6, and even fiber optics—typically for commercial construction projects. One day you might be labeling and organizing cables to make sure everything connects the way it should, and the next, you’re setting up ladders and tools to prep a work area. We follow detailed installation diagrams to set up cable pathways, using conduits, trays, and raceways. Safety is huge for us, so maintaining a clean job site and adhering to all safety regulations is a top priority. We work on a range of projects, from retail spaces to large office buildings, which keeps things fresh. Our team is solid, with each member bringing their own skills to the table, making it a great environment to learn and grow.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Don’t worry if you’re just starting out. We’re more focused on practical skills than paper qualifications. A basic understanding of low-voltage cabling systems is helpful, but what really matters is a strong work ethic and the ability to follow detailed instructions. You’ll need to be physically fit since some tasks involve lifting equipment and working in confined spaces. A good sense of humor and a bit of patience will also go a long way in this role!
The Good Stuff
Now, let’s talk about what makes Prime Partners stand out. We offer a competitive salary range between $18.48 and $21.44 an hour, depending on your experience. But it’s not just about the paycheck. There are real opportunities for career advancement and ongoing training to help you get certified in various areas. We believe in work-life balance, so you’ll find that we’re flexible and supportive of your needs outside of work. Plus, the team camaraderie here is fantastic. We celebrate our wins, both big and small, and there’s always room to grow. If you’re looking for somewhere to build a career, not just hold a job, Prime Partners might be just what you’re looking for.
