Apprentice Electrician Position Overview
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Electrician with Prime Partners, your day-to-day activities will involve hands-on experience in the electrical field. You’ll support the installation of advanced electrical systems, including rooftop solar arrays, battery systems, and EV chargers on commercial properties. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.

Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities
- Support the installation of rooftop solar arrays, battery systems, and EV chargers on commercial properties.
- Assist in running and securing conduit for DC wiring from solar modules to inverters.
- Perform basic wiring tasks, such as terminating PV modules and connecting battery storage systems.
- Learn to test and troubleshoot solar inverters and monitoring systems under supervision.
- Coordinate material preparation, including pre-assembling racking systems and ensuring tools are organized.
- Follow safety procedures for rooftop work and use of fall protection equipment.
- Advanced Duties: Assist in the integration of smart grid technologies, conduct energy audits under supervision, and participate in the commissioning of new electrical installations.
- Regional Project Specifics: Engage in sustainable energy projects across the Seattle metropolitan area, emphasizing eco-friendly solutions.
- Safety Protocols: Adherence to OSHA standards and Prime Partners’ safety guidelines is mandatory, with regular training sessions to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Understanding of basic electrical principles, including DC power systems.
- Willingness to work outdoors on rooftops in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow technical instructions for assembling and wiring renewable energy systems.
- Strong organizational skills for material handling and job site preparation.
- Comfortable working with hand tools and basic testing equipment.
- Experience: 1-4 years minimum as an Apprentice Electrician.
- Certifications: OSHA 10, CPR and First Aid, and a valid electrical trainee card.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with solar energy systems and basic electrical circuits.
Tools & Equipment
- Daily Tools: Multimeter, wire strippers, conduit benders, and power drills.
- Personal Tools: Apprentices are expected to have their own set of hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches.
- Company-Provided Equipment: Safety gear, specialized testing equipment, and ladders are supplied by Prime Partners.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Working Conditions: Frequent rooftop work and exposure to various weather conditions.
- Safety Gear: Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and harnesses are required for all fieldwork.
