About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our fast-growing team in Sandy Springs, GA. The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical systems, be detail-oriented, and committed to adhering to safety procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
- Inspect, test, and repair fire alarm equipment and system components regularly to ensure they are in perfect working condition.
- Perform troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with fire alarm systems.
- Work closely with the design and engineering team to understand fire alarm system designs and layouts.
- Provide accurate and detailed documentation of inspections, testing, and maintenance procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and troubleshoot high-level issues with fire alarm systems.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal fire and safety regulations.
- Train end-users on the correct use of fire alarm systems.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role in the electrical industry.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is highly desirable.
- Proficient knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
- Proven experience with various fire alarm systems, including conventional and addressable systems.
- Solid electrical skills and understanding of electrical systems and circuits.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety regulations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex information to non-technical individuals.
Physical Requirements:
The Fire Alarm Technician must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. This role requires frequent standing, bending, and reaching, and may involve climbing ladders or working in confined spaces.
