Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Location: Sandy Springs, GA

Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team in Sandy Springs, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to install, maintain, and repair complex electrical systems in commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance to relevant codes.
2. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair to ensure compliance with codes.
3. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
4. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
5. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
6. Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
7. Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
8. Supervise and participate in the installation and alteration of electrical systems.
9. Ensure all operations are performed in a safe and compliant manner.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician license.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial electrician.
3. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
5. Proficiency in using electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
6. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools and electrical drawings/blueprints.
7. Solid knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
8. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material.
9. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
10. Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
