Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician. This individual will be responsible for the installation, service, and repair of various types of fire alarm systems within commercial and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

1. Install new fire alarm systems in commercial and residential settings, following blueprints and electrical layouts.
2. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure they are operational and meet safety standards.
3. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in fire alarm systems including wiring, control panels, detectors, and other components.
4. Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot issues to restore functionality.
5. Interpret technical drawings, building plans, and electrical schematics.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of all installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair work.
7. Comply with all relevant safety codes and regulations during work operations.
8. Advise clients on fire safety measures and propose upgrades or replacements when necessary.
9. Coordinate with other professionals like electricians or firefighters during the installation or maintenance processes.
10. Continuously update knowledge of fire alarm systems and safety procedures in the industry.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid State of Georgia Fire Alarm License.
3. 2-3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role in the electrical industry.
4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and fire safety regulations.
5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and customer service skills.
8. Physical stamina to work long hours and handle heavy equipment.
9. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
10. NICET certification is preferred.

Requirements:

1. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
2. Must be willing to participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
3. Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50 pounds.
4. Must be comfortable working in different weather conditions and at high elevations.
