Key Responsibilities

Our Security Technician will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-level security systems tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients in the Hartford area. This includes configuring IP camera networks with VLANs and QoS settings to ensure optimal performance. You will program access control databases and credential management systems, ensuring the highest level of security and efficiency.

Installation of biometric security devices is another critical responsibility, requiring precision and technical expertise. You will configure cloud-based security platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, and perform regular system health monitoring and maintenance to preemptively address any potential issues.

In addition to these tasks, you will integrate security systems with building automation to enhance operational efficiency. Implementing cybersecurity best practices across all security networks is essential to protect sensitive information. Maintaining detailed system documentation and drawings is required to support ongoing operations and future upgrades. You will also provide end-user training on system operation to empower clients with the knowledge they need to utilize their systems effectively.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an ESA Level 1 certification and a CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred. Demonstrated experience with enterprise video management systems is essential. A strong understanding of IP networking and cybersecurity is required, alongside proficiency in access control database management.

Experience with biometric security systems and knowledge of structured cabling standards are also necessary. Candidates must have proven customer service skills, as providing exceptional service is a cornerstone of our operations. A clean background check is mandatory, and candidates must have the ability to obtain government clearance for certain projects.

For security work in commercial settings, 1-3 years of experience is required. Additional qualifications specific to Hartford include familiarity with the city’s infrastructure, an understanding of the local business landscape, and the ability to navigate Hartford’s regulatory environment effectively.
