Cable Tech Role Overview

Join our dynamic team in the Commercial division as a Cable Technician. This role is integral to the successful execution of various commercial projects, including office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and educational institutions. As a Cable Tech, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test cables for commercial projects, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems to prevent downtime and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Utilize cable management tools effectively for organized and efficient installations.
• Conduct site assessments to determine the best installation practices and identify potential challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Required Certifications and Experience

• Lift Certification: Essential for operating lifts safely during installations and maintenance tasks.
• Valid Driver’s License: Required for commuting to various project sites across Knoxville and neighboring areas.
• Electrical Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical systems, specifically in commercial settings.
• Electrical License for TN: Must hold a valid electrical license to work in Tennessee.
• First Aid/CPR: Certification in First Aid/CPR to ensure safety and emergency preparedness on-site.
• Cable Management Tools: Proficient in using tools such as cable testers, crimpers, and other essential equipment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require physical endurance.
• Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with lift certification tasks is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of working on commercial projects, demonstrating an ability to adapt to various project requirements and environments.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Knoxville, TN
• Neighboring Cities: Our projects often extend to surrounding areas including Farragut, Maryville, Oak Ridge, Alcoa, and Clinton.
• Schedule: Full-time position, offering a stable and consistent work schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $23.68-$26.54 per hour, commensurate with experience and expertise.
